Taxing Digital Assets 101: a journey through the current landscape in New Zealand.
During this session, we will explore the world of taxation and the current landscape for tax compliance in New Zealand.. Our guest speakers will be Rachael Gemming, Associate Director - Tax at EY, and Andrew Evison, Specialist Investigation Team Leader at Inland Revenue. Rachael and Andrew will provide guidance around where current tax legislation exists today, where it does not, as well as what is potentially on the horizon that could impact businesses.
The session will be interactive, featuring 60 minutes of presentations and discussions, followed by an optional 30-minute Q&A for attendees who wish to stay on.
About Rachel Gemming
Rachael is an Associate Director - Tax at EY and leads the EY Tauranga office. She has over 20 years experience in the tax space, including 18 years with the IRD β a number which were spent specialising in cryptocurrency taxation.
About Andrew Evison
Andrew Evison is a Specialist Investigation Team Leader at Inland Revenue where he assists with digital asset taxation, including disseminating information to businesses looking for more clarity in the Web3 space.
